......we just kept on walking.....till I decided it was time for tea and cake.......

then more walking..........
....and more wilting walking........
until we saw peoples.
Where they're are peoples, says I, there is bound to be a bus!

Starting from Ryde, on the Isle of Wight, we turned right and followed our noses. This was our 5th day of our holiday....

I wonder if The Other Half had any thoughts of getting rid of me here...........I did have my back to her as I took this photo!
She wouldn't have done that.......would she???
We'll never know.....

Magnificent!
And the view is cool too!

What can I say.........we'd reached Tennyson's Monument. I was HAPPY!!! ......OK! ![]()

Good grief - we were pleased to see Freshwater Bay ahead of us. There is a pub down there, where a long cold cider was imbibed and later on, as we made our way back to the caravan, fish and chips were consumed.
A great day's walking!

There they are! We could have perhaps got a little nearer The Needles - but that would have meant paying to enter The Battery - which we decided not to do. Maybe another day.

Effie demanded that a photo be taken of her at this proud moment in her life!

Now then! Turn left and march! Along Tennyson's Way.
I wouldn't mind living just here. It would be quiet and peaceful.
Wet and damp! But quiet!

We continue. Lydia finds this Slow-worm but I convince her she can wait for her lunch at the Alum Bay cafe.

Well! When I saw this - I just HAD to have a go - even if it meant walking all the way to the bottom just to pay some money to travel back up to the top.

And travel back up - we did. Scary it was. Swaying in the breeze.
Finally - the last look back as we approach the western-most tip of the Isle of Wight.
